I have always enjoyed gourmet food and later as well good drinks. As a student I did student exchange and participated in many international projects. After I worked some time for Slovenian Tourist Board. So that's why I was able to meet, make friendship and host many foreign friends and tourists. Many times we were tasting best Slovenian food like cheese, Kraški pršut or wine together and their response was always the same. Enthusiastic and surprised at the same time. So I started realizing that we have here in Slovenia really good culinary products but not many people outside the country know about it. Time passed and in summer 2014 I was travelling around Spain. As a hungry traveler I entered one shop with traditional food and there I saw a "sign". It was written: "We ship to your home." So logical question followed: "Why nobody is promoting and shipping to people in Europe our food and wine?" And SloveniaFood.com was founded.
SloveniaFood.com is continuously growing. My family, friends and I are working hard to make our customer experience better and better. Of course one of main priorities is to maintain good relationship with our partners and suppliers because they do what they do the best with passion and dedication already for many years. Thirdly, we constantly seek out for new high quality products around Slovenia that we can offer to our customer and making our assortment bigger and bigger. We know that with the growth of SloveniaFood.com, awareness about quality of Slovenian food is going to be higher and higher and European crowd is going to appreciate and love products under brand "Made in Slovenia".
Slovenia is country in Central Europe. But what makes this country special is that three mayor European climates mix in its territory. Alpine climate in the north, Mediterranean in the south & west and Continental climate in the center & east. So in this tiny piece of land three geographical worlds come together and influence the way people had been living for centuries, are living today, their culture and especially gastronomy. Natural conditions lead that each part developed its distinctive food and drinks like award winning extra virgin olive oil from the sunny coast, traditional billberry liqueur from the Alps or excellent Blaufränkisch from little hills of eastern Slovenia where Alpine foothills are slowly transforming into Pannonian Basin.
