The 2014 champion among Cabernet Sauvignons in Slovenia’s most prestigious annual wine tasting at the AGRA Fair in Gornja Radgona , Lisjak’s Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 is a great choice for all red wine admirers and goes really well with meaty dishes and bitter greens such as kale, radicchio, spinach or endive. The Kras Wine District is notable for many things – diverse stony landscape, special jerky dry wind called “burja”, amazing flavours of local traditional foods and, of course, great wine.
The Lisjak family has been producing wines ever since the early 19th century and they for sure know how to make wine not only a beverage but an enticing experience. First, Lisjak’s Cabernet Sauvignon seduces with its unique dark bottle created by the well-known Slovenian industrial designer Oskar Kogoj, which perfectly captures the wine’s bold nature. After the bottle is opened, it gently teases the nose with its colourful flavour, and when it is tasted, it leaves a pleasant and refreshing aftertaste.
